Tommasini has experience welding top quality titanium frames for over 25 years.  In the beginning Irio set up a special laboratory separate from the rest of the workshop.  This titanium shop is completely aeseptic, darkened and with argon gas to purge contaminants from the welding zone.  This strict attention to the environment of the frame building results in almost zero warranty.  Titanium is itself a very durable material but only if it is worked correctly.

From a performance perspective titanium has a special elasticity to the tubing and this gives the bicycle frame compliance and the ability to tune out bumps in the road.  The dilemma for titanium bikes is how to have the comfort and compliance but have enough rigidity in the proper place to have a fast and high performance bike.  This is where the Mach Ti shines; the perfect balance of performance and comfort.  First aspect is seamless 3/2.5 titanium tubes with a special proprietary down tube built for Tommasini.  This reduces torsion flex and maintains the vertical integrity of the frame when it is pushed hard.  Second is uses of special titanium plate for drop outs.  The connection of the frame to the rear wheel is vital for performance and a highly resistant drop out give the bike superb acceleration and maximum pedaling efficiency.  Third is the new 1 1/8 x 1 1/2 oversize head tube mated to the oversize carbon fork.  Now the front end of the bike is solid and creates a super stable ride especially when descending at high speeds and aggressive cornering.  No bike descends or handles like a Tommasini and the Mach Ti is the pinnacle of performance titanium bikes
